Hero items
Your hero can bring back equippable items that boost the loot from their expeditions.
Where do you find these items?
Only on the two long expeditions: the Distant one (12% loot chance) and the Great one (17%). Short expeditions (Patrol, Exploration) never give an item — they're for XP. One item maximum per expedition.
How it works
- 🗺️Send your hero on a Distant or Great expedition: that's where, and only where, items drop.
- 🎒Each item takes up a slot: Weapon, Armor or Boots — one item equipped per slot.
- 📈Once equipped, it boosts the loot of one resource (wood, stone or wheat) and reduces another.
- ♻️Duplicate items you recycle into shards, then you spend those shards to upgrade your best pieces.
Bonuses and rarities
The rarer an item, the more it makes you gain and the less it makes you lose. When found, its numbers are rolled within a range: so two items of the same rarity are never identical.
The rules to know
Frequently asked questions
How does upgrading with shards work?
Each tier adds +2% to the item's gain (the malus, however, never changes). Going from tier N to tier N+1 costs N+1 shards: 1 for the first, then 2, 3… up to 55 shards for a full +10 item.
Can an upgraded common beat a legendary?
No. Even pushed to +10, a common stays well behind a raw legendary. Rarity remains king: the legendary is always the best choice.
How do you get shards?
By recycling your spare items. You get back 1 shard for a common, 4 for a rare, 15 for an epic and 50 for a legendary. An equipped item cannot be recycled: unequip it first. Recycling is permanent.
Does it affect my Gold or my village production?
No. Items only act on the loot from your hero's expeditions, never on Gold and never on your villages' production. They also can't be bought in the shop.
