Recruitment
Train your troops at the Barracks: you pay upfront, and units come out one by one.
How do I recruit faster?
Level up your Barracks. The higher its level, the faster each unit comes out — the gain is huge. A Guard takes about 3 to 4 minutes with a level 1 Barracks, but barely around forty seconds at level 10. The resource cost, however, doesn't change.
How it works
- 🏰Build your Barracks (level 1 minimum) to unlock recruitment.
- 🪙Pick a troop and a quantity. The cost is charged immediately, the moment you add it to the queue.
- ⏳Units are trained one by one. You can stack several batches that run back to back.
- ⚔️Each finished unit joins your garrison right away, ready to defend or attack.
The rules to know
Unlocking troops
Each unit type requires a minimum Barracks level. By leveling up your Barracks, you unlock increasingly powerful troops:
Frequently asked questions
Can I recruit several types of troops at the same time?
Yes. You can put up to 5 batches in the queue, of different types. They're trained one after another, in order. Tip: if you restart the same type as the last batch in progress, it gets added to that batch without using up an extra slot.
If I cancel a recruitment, do I get my resources back?
Units already finished are kept for you, and you are fully refunded for the units not yet produced. Important exception: if an attack is on its way to this village, the refund drops to 50% (to prevent hiding your resources in the queue during a raid).
Why are my troops coming out so slowly?
The speed depends on the unit's cost and above all on your Barracks level. An expensive unit on a low Barracks takes time. Level up your Barracks to speed things up. The "Great Construction Site" bonus and the Enlistment talent (Academy) reduce the time even further.
Where is the Settler recruited?
Not at the Barracks, but at the Embassy. The Settler is used to found an outpost: it is neither a fighter, nor sent into attack.
