Heroes & expeditions
Your hero sets off on expeditions, brings back resources and Gold, and levels up all the way to 100.
Which expedition should you send: short or long?
It depends on your goal. The short ones (Patrol, Exploration) are free and mainly grant XP: perfect for growing a young hero. The long ones (Distant, Grand) cost Vigor but bring back the bulk of the loot (resources + Gold). In short: XP first to level up, long ones afterwards for the loot.
How it works
- 🗺️Pick an expedition from your main village and send your hero off. Only one at a time.
- ⏳You wait out the displayed duration. During that time, the hero is unavailable.
- 🎁On return, the loot (wood, stone, wheat, Gold) and the XP drop in automatically.
- ⭐With enough XP, he levels up — and unlocks the more demanding expeditions.
The 4 expeditions
The resources (🪵 wood, ⛏️ stone, 🌾 wheat) brought back also depend on the production of your buildings: the higher your sawmill, quarry and farm, the bigger the loot. Gold, on the other hand, always follows the ranges above.
The hero's level
Vigor
In practice, the daily budget allows roughly 3 Grand expeditions per day if you play non-stop. A normal player is almost never blocked.
Frequently asked questions
Can my hero be wounded or die on an expedition?
No. He never dies and there is no longer any random injury. The only "cost" is the Vigor of long expeditions — and you know its exact amount before setting off.
Why can't I launch a long expedition?
Two possible reasons: your hero doesn't yet have the required level (level 5 for the Distant, level 10 for the Grand), or he's short on Vigor. In that case, let him rest while it climbs back up (+5/h).
Does level really change the loot?
Yes. The range of gains stays the same, but a high-level hero pulls toward the top more often: on average ~30% of the range at level 1, up to ~75% at level 100. The same loot, but noticeably more generous.
Where do expeditions set off from?
Always from your main village — that's where the hero and his loot return, even if you're viewing the screen from an outpost.
