Factions: Empire, Necropolis, Sylve and Orcs

Your faction gives your whole kingdom an identity through landscapes, colours, troops and defenses. It also provides an advantage for construction, recruitment, research or travel provisions.

Which faction is strongest in battle?

Equivalent units retain the same stats, quantities and costs. Factions change their appearance and names; their specialties affect building, recruitment or research times, or the wheat consumed during travel.

Four worlds, four specialties

  1. Empire: cities and armies serve one crown. New building construction takes 10% less time.
  2. Necropolis: legions rise from the crypts. New troop recruitment takes 10% less time.
  3. Sylve: elves of ancient forests guard forgotten knowledge. New research takes 10% less time.
  4. Orcs: the clans build fortresses of stone and iron. Their armies and convoys consume 10% less wheat during travel, including incursions and musters. This bonus does not reduce transported resources.

Make your choice

Your first faction choice is free. Browse the previews to compare villages, units and defenses before confirming. Your choice applies to every fief.

An older kingdom without a faction may have the Empire’s appearance without its advantage. Choose its first faction to activate a specialty.

Change your banner

After the first choice, switching costs 1,500 Gold from your main fief. Players must wait three days between choices.

Wait until military missions and incoming attacks are over before switching. Changes are also unavailable during vacation mode.

Your villages, buildings, research, resources and armies are preserved. The new specialty replaces the previous one and only applies to new work and departures. Missions and work already underway and defense construction times do not change.
